The Nigeria Enterprise Educators Network (NEEN) is a network of all tertiary institutions engaged in the teaching, research and development of Entrepreneurship Education (EE) in the South West Geo-political Zone of Nigeria (SWGPZ). The University of Ibadan Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) was elected the coordinator for all Enterprise Educators in the South West Geo-political Zone of Nigeria at workshop sponsored by the British Council on 6th – 10th September, 2010. The position is to facilitate the formation of a network of stakeholders with like-minds and similar passion – that of building enterprise in Nigeria. This body is to be called Nigeria Enterprise Educators Network (NEEN).
To develop Entrepreneurial culture and mindset in all higher institutions in the South West Geo-political Zone.
To promote cultural re-orientation that will create entrepreneurial mindset in higher institutions through development of unified curriculum, organizations of workshops and seminars, provision of incubators and business set up, promotion of linkages and networks within and outside the SWGPZ of Nigeria.
Since inception, members of NEEN have engaged in various Entrepreneurship Education developmental activities such as SMEs monitoring and counseling, career talks, workshops, seminars, exhibitions and trade fairs. Other NEEN activities include networking and exchange of creative ideas on entrepreneurship education.
The Nigeria Enterprise Educators Network (NEEN) SWZ provided the platform for all teachers of entrepreneurs in all Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in the SWZ to share their experiences. It also assisted in capacity building. The Conference was held on May 16th to 18th, 2012.
A Conference was also held on June 25th to 27th, 2014 at Abeokuta, Ogun State. The theme of the Conference was: “Entrepreneurship, the Nigerian Economy and Transformation Agenda”. All teachers of Entrepreneurship Education in all Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education participated during the Conference. It was also in collaboration with SMEDAN Coordinators in Ogun and Oyo States’ participating in stimulating, coordinating and monitoring development of the MSMEs sector.
